eightolives' Schematic
Create an electrical design schematic using eightolives' finger-friendly Schematic. It's a Progressive Web App (PWA) that runs in your web browser whether on or off-line. This schematic entry tool lets you graphically capture a design and output netlists for printed circuit layout, analysis or simulation. You can print the resulting schematic as png images for documentation. With one click, you can transfer your design to the eightolives Layout tool or output netlists in other formats for use in other tools.
You can easily create schematics and block diagrams using built-in or on-line eightolives' symbol libraries. You can also import symbols from part vendors or easily create symbols using the tool's various symbol wizards.
Eightolives Schematic is compatible with gEDA tools, symbols and files. You can also import gEDA library symbols or KiCad symbols that are indirectly accessed from those tool libraries on your filesystem.
Your design is normally saved in one design file (.sho) allowing easy transfer of the schematic design between different computing platforms.
Your modern web browser running on laptop or phone displays the user interface using HTML5 and javascript. It's tested using Firefox, Chrome and Safari. See the overview Using eightolives' Schematic for screenshots, menus and more information on how to use the tool.
Things you can do- Create electrical schematics and netlists for other printed circuit layout tools.
- Save data (or import data) in gEDA .sch and .sym format for use with other eightolives or gEDA tools.
- Generate netlists in gEDA, PADS, KiCad or VHDL format.
- Access basic symbols which are built-in or accessed from the eightolives' on-line symbol, simulation or parts libraries.
- Use symbols from gEDA symbol libraries (not included).
- Use symbols from KiCad symbol .lib libraries (not included).
- Import KiCad symbols created by part vendors.
- Create various sized connector and header symbols using the built-in Connector Wizard
- Create block-type (black box) symbols using the built-in Block Symbol Wizard
- Import vendor ".bxl" symbols as ".xml" "XML Library Export" files
- Create your own symbols with pins and basic graphics.
- Perform design checks.
- Print or save using your browser's capabilities.
- Save, share or open a design using eightolives' OneFile format which consolidates symbols and sheets in a single .sho file.
- Create gEDA PCB footprint files from vendor ".bxl" files
- One click to transfer your design to eightolives' Layout tool
- One click to transfer your design to eightolives' WaveformViewer
- Generate a simulatable model of your schematic or template models of your symbols.
